This year marks the Festival's 20th year! Enjoyed by visitors from around the world, it is Europe's largest Medieval Festival.
Set amidst the stunning Sussex countryside Herstmonceux Castle is just ninety minutes from London by road and a mere stone's throw from the south's major holiday resort towns of Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings. The location, venue and content make this event popular with visitors and traders alike. The focal points of the Festival are the colourful trading areas where visitors may browse at leisure excited by the many spectacular shows such as mounted Skill-at-Arms Tournaments, Castle Sieges, Archery and much more. There is ample shopping time between shows.
Within the grounds and for participants and traders only, free on site camping, with hot showers, is available or if you prefer, hotel-type accommodation. The food & beer tent will remain open following the closure of the gates to the public, where a magnificant selection of fine foods cooked freshly by award winning chefs will be offered accommpanied by fine beers, ales and beverages from our resident brewery. The live music and entertainment adds to the magical ambience of the Buxom Wench Tavern.
A single trading space for all three days, situated Inside a Marquee or Outside in Market Lane is just £180.00 (If you book after May 1st the price increases to £200 per space). Electricity is only available in the marquee.
We are proud to advertise this as being the most authentic Festival of its kind in the country and our visitors have high expectations. In order not to disappoint and to add to the fun, we require that everyone participating dress in medieval style and we encourage all points of sale to adopt a medieval theme. We will offer ideas and suggestions to help you achieve suitable attire!
